Calendar Update Jul 31st

Gifts From The Heart...Back to Basics

Just a few things. You will see some info shared several times and it just means that I want to give everyone a chance to see it.

When will the calendar be available for purchase?
We are hoping to have our Kick Off on September 5th...it isn't that far away and I still have lots to do yet.

Can we Pre-Order the Printed Version?
Yes, the Pre-Order date for anyone wanting to pre-order the printed version is August 15th with directions hitting this blog sometime between August 12-14th.

How much will the calendar cost?
The download version will be $16, the printed version (including shipping) will be $23. For those who order more than one printed calendar, there will be reduced shipping cost for additional calendars being shipped to the same address.

A few more photos for today. You have to love the first one, this little guy is SUCH a ham, but an adorable ham :) Yes, you are right, our sexy little model is back again this year with his newest item, he has bedroom eyes, which is OK, because he is in his, uh uh bed!!! And yes, you too can be the proud owner of this great looking bed. The pattern for the doggie/kitty bed will be in our calendar. Alli did a great job of coming up with this bed that all pets would be proud to have. You can see more of Alli other creations at http://knitwitsalley.tripod.com/

I think I mentioned at the last update or the one prior that Cathy Fuller Waldie would be joining us this year. If you are not familiar with Cathy (haha, who isn't) you can see her work at http://wishingiwasknitting.blogspot.com/. Cathy has a kitchen set in our calendar and it is really pretty. It includes a cloth, placemat, towel and bag holder. Check it out below:

That is all for now, I will do another update next week.

Calendar Update July 28, 2009

Gifts From The Heart....Back to Basics

Just a note to let everyone know what is taking place with our calendar. We are in the process of setting up a calendar website and getting ready for the kickoff that will take place in September. We will be taking advance orders for those wanting the printed version in mid August so watch the news for more info on that.

I have a series of blocks that remind me of quilts long ago when they were hand made. This one is called "Skies Over New York" and reminds me of birds soaring in the sky. I have one more block called Western Sun that I will show at a later date.

Alli Barrett has had designs in our calendar every year it has been published and is a charter designer for sure. She always comes up with beautiful designs. This one is called "Starlit" and I love the stitching done with this one. You can see her other designs at http://knitwitsalley.tripod.com/

You will see more information about pricing, kick off give aways and calender completion in the next few updates.
Thanks for your support.

Update 2010 Calendar (July 19)

Gifts From The Heart...Back to Basics
Hi Everyone, I wanted to share a few more photos of patterns that you will see in the 2010 Knitting Calendar. I have been a bit busy trying to put things together. Some news for you about the calendar...we will soon have our own website, that is sssoooo awesome and I am so excited. Emily is doing such a good job for us! The other news is that Cathy from http://wishingiwasknitting.blogspot.com/2007/12/christmas-lace-dishcloth.html (I love that cloth) will be joining us this year. This girl has more talent in her little finger than I have in my whole body :) You will see what she has in store for us a little later.

Sue Schaefer is another very talented lady that does beautiful designs and you can see all of her creations at http://harvestmoonupperroom.blogspot.com/. I introduced her Market Bag to you last week but get a load of this beautiful cloth she has come up with. The name of this cloth is "There Is No Place Like Home" and I love the little houses. Everyone has done such a good job of sticking to the theme this year.

The other cloth I am showing you this time is another one of Lindys cloth, it is very delicate and lacy. Lindy's blog is located at
http://madebylindy.blogspot.com/. She is one of our younger designers and has a great amount of creativity and talent. This is the second year Lindy has joined our group and she always has a lot of originality in her work. The name of her cloth is "Sweetheart".

I will present more pattern photos next week and notify everyone when the new website is done.

Calendar Update July 10th

Hi everyone, I wanted to get this out to everyone before the weekend got started and I was involved with other things.

This year I have contracted Cindy Moore to develop a gift card for us to go along with our theme. There is also a pattern enhancement on the card. Cindy does a really nice job with designing the cards.

We will have a bonus section in the calendar again this year. This section will be dedicated to "sets". It could be cloth and towel sets, bathroom sets, just anything with more than one item. My set is a cloth and towel set and it is pictured here and named after one of my sisters. It is called "Shirley Two Heart and Moss Set". Photos don't always show true colors. The Washcloths are done in hot pink and light pink (looks like white) and the towel is done in hot pink.

The other design is from Sue Schaefer called "Land and Sea Market Bag". I love this design, it really brightens the bag. Sue always brings us really bright and useful items. You can visit Sue at : http://www.harvestmoonupperroom.blogspot.com/

Enjoy your weekend

Calendar Update July 5 2009

Gifts From The Heart.....Back to basics

I guess our theme could mean different things to different people. When I hear "back to basics", I think of my grandmother years ago when she had a wood burning stove and would not get any new fan dangle (I know THAT is not a word) appliances and still had a feather bed. That was when you lived in the country and wanted to move to the city because things MUST have been better there (haha). Looking back now, that was one of the best times in my life when things were a little more simpler and the family ties were much closer.

Speaking of my grandmother, I remember her quilting and how labor intensive it was but what a beautiful piece of work it ended up being. I decided this year I would make a series called Quilts Americana depicting different parts of our country/states. This one is called "Colors Of The Southwest". The yarn color comes alive and is warm and vibrant. It is Peaches N Creme's "Premium" yarn and the color is "Spice" and "Deep Red".

The second one I wanted to show you is adorable. Susan Mrenna designed a cloth that has a home with a heart in it. How perfect that is for this year's theme. The cloth is actually called Heart and Home.
I think so far I have announced 10 patterns that will be in our 2010 calendar and I still have more to show you, some I haven't received yet. I think you will like all that we are putting together. I don't know how many I have total yet, waiting on some feed back from designers before I can announce the total.
Have a good week :)
